I need a new turntable. Recommendations?

Mine is shot and I’d like to upgrade to something a little nicer. Nothing too crazy in price. Preferably under $200 or so. I’m good on speakers and power amp, just need a turntable.

Any recommendations?

RT82

Needs a preamp. I’m using a Rega fono mini. So that adds to the cost if your stereo doesn’t have a phono in.

honestly, id look for a used rega p2 or if you can find a used 1200 variant, id do that. but depends how much you use it and the system youre using. DO NOT buy the audio technica 1200 looking copy. its a dog.

ALSO though... how is it shot?

reason i ask is, ive met very very few SHOT turntables that werent just in need of a new belt or something dead simple!

Yea. The difference is largely the cartridge it comes with and whether it has a built-in preamp or not. The cartridge is super easy to upgrade later. Though I haven't had any issues with the one that the RT82 came with. A preamp will put you out some coin though. The Rega I bought was another $150 -- so like half the price of the turntable.
