Hotone Ampero Mini

That's a tiny ho!

Manual shows no EFX Loop and no Midi I/O capability.

Still looks like a really great "standalone" unit for the right user.

Ben
No MIDI is a really stupid omission. Surely there was room at least for those 3.5mm MIDI jacks?

A big part of why I don't bother with these cheaper brands is that there's always some huge drawback to them. Whether it's sound quality or features.

The lack of any physical knobs is also offputting. I get that it's small and can't fit much in terms of hardware, but I would have thrown out the footswitches before the knobs of the Ampero Stomp 2. Put in MIDI instead and posit it as a desktop unit you control with something else.

People, calm your tits, it's probably safe to assume this little guy is targeted at people practicing at home / kids / beginners. They won't miss FX loop, or MIDI or what ever a pro gigging musicians needs. If you need all that, this is probably not the device for you.

Note the great UI <3

What’s the price of admission???

$229 on Hotone's online shop.

https://shop.hotoneaudio.com/products/ampero-mini. Available in 6 colors too.

Specs look pretty much identical to the original Ampero Stomp too, which is not bad at all.

You could also fit this on ny pedalboard out there, no problem, and immediately get amp modelling, IRs and effects for cheap. I'm yet to play one, but Ampero tones sounded pretty good on all clips i've found online.

There’s not much reason to buy one of these cheap knock offs if you can afford one of the products it’s based off of anyway. IMHO. There’s no such thing as a free lunch. You’d have to be in pretty dire straits for the difference between this and an HX Stomp to have major financial implications… Buy nice or buy twice.

If you are a newbie and are not sure your going to stick with it, sure... but for most folks here, who are dedicated gear heads; they’re probably gonna be a pass or backup units.

I watched this by LT. This one does a lot for its size...could be a great backup. I like the editor.

Leon do you spend your days buying new gear?? lol...its like everything is avail in aussi land same day.

@2112 This sounds really good actually, I am sure it’s because you took the time to dial it in but I am hearing really good tones from this you , Jon from Sonic Drive , Michael Nielsen all have great tones

I would love a deep dive on the amps on this one with your LT mix 7 loaded up to keep it neutral

I would love to hear The Bogner XTC red , Mark V , Freidman Be/HBE with some of the switchs

Effects Virtual capo drop tuner
The poly pitch on like a harmony Scorpions lead
Some of the drives like Fortin
EP booster, Guvnor

If you have some time

Yeah, i've regularly seen the Ampero Mini listed at ~$200. Seems to be ridiculously good value for the money.
From what I have heard some of the Models are quite good in fact I prefer some to Helix and the interface looks great .
As I said before these guys are going to keep coming and improving I am sure Nux or Hotone are already looking at switch encoders and bigger better screens , capture loading etc etc
We will probably see a new one at Namm in January
