I was proposed a trade for my Helix Stadium XL for a Guyatone SG-12T +$400 to me.

I have not played the guitar. It’s semi-local; he is coming to me so if the guitar wasn’t my jam I wouldn’t know how to handle that since he’s driving ~3-4 hours round trip.

Has anyone played one of these Guyatone SG-12T’s? I like the look of the guitar and to be perfectly honest, I like the Helix but I always get into these moods where I vacillate between digital and analog. I have a vintage ‘65 Twin and a ‘73 JMP.

The Guyatone is original with the exception of the bridge, which has been converted to a fixed bridge for tuning stability. He doesn’t have the original Bigsby to my knowledge. I think the money is in the goldfoil pickups, which are installed.

Let me know!

a) i guess it depends on how much you need a weird hollowbody, and b) no. no i wouldnt do that.
Fair. I mean I’ll be completely honest I have never heard of this guitar prior to the guy hitting me up about it. Seems like a cheaply made vintage Japanese guitar that has gained some notoriety because a few session guys appreciate the pickups.

WR, im kinda jokin, but i guess i look at it like a heavily modded kinda meh hollowbody is fun, but like a helix is actually useful, and i suspect unless its a magical specimen, that guyatone might be kinda meh. and evenn f gold foils are kinda cool and hip... i cant see the carrier being just THAT much of a serious rager to trade off utility. YMMV.
