Going to assume no one here has an original Klon pedal but that many use a version of one.
What's yours?

I used to have a Keeley D&M Drive, the That Pedal Show signature overdrive. It had a Klon and OCD side.

Nowadays I'll just use the Minotaur in Helix Native or the Fractal Klon.

I hope the builder of yours disclosed that the pedal was a PedalPCB board.

I'm just saying that if I got a small builder pedal, whether it was part of a run or a custom design, and it was "just" a kit board inside, depending on the price I might feel cheated. As long as this was disclosed there's no problem.

In any case it looks like pretty clean work. If the switch ever fails, do not try to desolder that PedalPCB footswitch board. It's a huge pain in the ass. Just hardwire a new switch the old fashioned way, it takes much less time.

I have nothing against PedalPCB, I've built a few kits using their boards and they have turned out great and I would recommend them to anyone.

At that price no problem. In EU a PedalPCB Klon kit from Musikding.de would be about $52 incl VAT and that's with a pre-drilled 125B enclosure without graphics. So a bit over twice that for a printed box and labor seems very fair.
 
I really went into the weeds with the Klon. I've built loads of them. These are the two I kept for myself.

A straight up Klone on a pedalpcb board.

This one is based on the Silver Pony schematic released by BYOC. It's basically a lightly modded klon. The RYRA is also based on the silver pony.

Now that would have been epic. Shit I have to make another one now. Thanks for that. I thought I was finally done with the Klon :facepalm
 
I've built a couple, and owned a couple of clones. I absolutely love them into something that already sounds pretty awesome and crunchy - used into a clean amp, they just sound nasal with that horrible clean blend/crunchy sound clash.

If I built another I'd open up the low end some more.
