Do you think it's a keeper this time??
Of course it’s a keeper!
Until I get bored again and decide not to keep it

That seems like a bad paraphrasing since multiple quotes from Cliff below mention "little effect" not "no effect":Fractal Wiki: "With amp models that have no preamp gain, such as Plexis, saturation has no effect."
Seem to be "snake oil," which doesn't mean they will sound bad... Like any IRs, you may prefer them in some situations.Does anyone have experience with these XR IRs in the FM9?
Not really my cup of tea, but for similar tones I really dig the factory AC-20 IRs (I have a favourite among those but don't recall the exact number at the moment) and also the 1x10 metro blues dynacabMakes sense thank you!! Yeah I’ll mess with the stock stuff before buying anything. Do you have recommendations on maybe like 3 cabs I should use to get started? I usually play fender deluxe, matchless, dumble style stuff in P&W style. I just don’t want to spend a whole week testing out all 2000 cabs
CLOSEOUT??? NEW GEN COMING
Happy Halloweenie you Cultists and Wanna Be Cultists!
Yes it’s time to ask this question again… Should a happy HX stomp user spend $1k on an FM3 just to see what all the fuss is about? I have wanted to try one for years now but the $1k price point is just over where it gets really hard for me to pry open the wallet

I figure even if this sale is short lived, it will come again for black friday, so I can continue to procrastinate on this but eventually I think I’m going to have to try one.
If they came out with a amp and cab only thing I could put in the loop of the stomp I’d buy it instantly. Because I am pretty married to helix effects and ui workflow right now. That’s what I was hoping the VP4 was going to be.
I have another question on layouts for yall. Can I set up the FM9 to do this:
Switch 1 - scene 1
LONG press switch 1 - scene 2
Switch 2 - scene 3
LONG press switch 2 - scene 4
Switches 3-9 - various effects
LONG press switches 3-9 - different effects
I’m sort of a kitchen sink preset type of person. Not sure if I even have enough DSP to do this though.
Maybe instead of using scenes, different presets?

Do a little YouTube surfing regarding Fractal layouts. What you’re describing is a very basic layout, you can do way more than that.
Figure out the way you want your presets to work as far as switching goes and build out from there.Instead of Switches 1-2 being Scenes 1-4.... do you think I would be able to save on DSP by making them Presets 1-4 instead of Scenes?

kidding of course

The switching layouts have no impact on DSP in that regard. I have dedicated layouts for presets, scenes, and effects. From the preset layout I have one switch to access the scene layout. From the scene layout I have one switch to select the primary effects layout. From the primary effects layout I have one switch to access a second effects layout, but also use the hold function on the front six switches to access the first six scenes. The second effects layout controls most post amp effects (delay, reverb, chorus, tremolo, rotary, and the hold functions for each switch cycles through the block channels for each of those effects. Some bounce between two channels, some cycle through all four.
This is all for my band kitchen sink preset, which I use most of the time.
