FB Marketplace sucks now...

I've been buying and selling online since about 1999. Across all kinds of forums from all sorts of hobbies, on E-Bay, and on FB Marketplace. Lately, FB Marketplace has become a cesspool of flakes. The say they want to sell their stuff, but reneg when making deals, don't want to travel to make exchanges, get picky about the price even after they agree on it...just a bunch of people kicking tires. Just plain frustrating.

The three times I sold something on there last year, I ended up with dudes 400 miles away looking for pen pals, telling me about the glory days of gigging Florida in the 70’s. I eventually sold the items, but not before a ton of back and forth texts about shit I don’t care about.

It's all the economy, or mostly. I was moving shit pretty good last year, this year I struggled to move a few guitars and now I'm not getting any interest in my FM9 - @ $1399, which should be a steal. Oh well.

Of course the area you are in means a lot but I feel like the economy is the biggest issue atm.

FM9? What's going on down there, Dave? :hmm

I was always interested in the QC, got a used one for a fantastic deal, and it was as "like new" as a real new one.

Works better for me, honestly. Fortin Nameless captures, galore = Warmart happiness.

Nothing bad or wrong with the FM9, just don't have the knowledge nor interest in the tweaking aspects and I couldn't get the tones right - just caused me more trouble than it was worth.

I don't trust FB'ers, to be quite honest. What kind of desperate emotional need is that platform
offering people that they need to consume Fuckerberg's force-fed paid ads. It's a god damn
virtual expressway full of billboards on a road going nowhere.

I love marketplace, continuous good scores and good sales (for anything that isn't gear lolol)

It is not a sellers market for guitar equipment right now. And a lot of people still haven't figured that out yet

i got a peavey ultra plus 120 head for 400 bucks on fb marketplace recently. pretty awesome amp, great price too.

but the 2 guitars i have had for sale for over a year have had lots of tire kickers with no serious buyers so i get that too.

The only way I seem able to sell is thru Reverb.
I always post on Marketplace and Craig's List but nothing moves.

Just shipped the Wampler Ger Tumnus yesterday.
Sold three other pedals.
Have three to go...
