Tape flanging is always cool. When I first heard Gypsy Eyes by Jimi I was hooked. I try to copy it every now and then.
His auto wah effect on Burning of the Midnight Lamp is another. His use of a univibe on Machine Gun & the Star-Spangled Banner are epic.
I could go on with Jimi....
These songs would be great without the effects but I think they bring everything together in to something unique. Throw in Jimi's uniqueness and you have something very special.
