Edit to nad :)
Checked it out today, brought my fav amp as a reference, and couldn’t escape the observation this one simply sounded better..and looked more sexy ;)

Kinda hard to do without pics…but maybe I can get a feel for a price range:

Handbuild Overdrive special klone by an unknown builder in Eastern Europe, who builds a few per year as a hobby/side gig.
Head
Used one in my area, made in 2022
Mercury Transformers,Sozo Caps,F &T con, 4x nos 6l6
Real leather clothing
I know the guy I’m buying from, and his expertise (and trust him), and I believe no expense was saved when it comes to parts.
Build looks excellent, wiring/boards,for a dummy like me in that department, very well done. Has some pcb boards, which make me wonder if it was a “kit” (and a front that has the looks like it was machine produced)

Any educated estimates?

Built by hand using top quality components is probably going to cost more than you think no matter who put it together. I thought about building an amp a few times. I haven't done it because I have amps I like enough that I don't feel like I am missing anything. Plus, if I ever decided to sell the amp I built, I probably wouldn't be able to get the cost of the parts back out of it because nobody knows who I am.

Idnk what components cost…when I look at the transformers alone …that’s 850 right there. My uneducated guess in parts alone…at least 2k? Possibly 3k?
Like you say, I’d expect a selling price below the cost of its parts.

And that doesn't even take into account the number of hours it took someone to put it together. The components add up kind of fast. Some of the pedals I have built run from $50 to $80 for all of the parts. It then takes a bit of time to put it all together. I haven't ordered parts for a little while now but with the cost of things going up and shipping going up my numbers could be low now.

Your right offcourse.
It’s the “unknown builder part” that makes it shady what a fair price would be ;)

Is this all in Neural/Kemper world, or do you have a ToneX now? can't remember. Been pondering MAYBE adding a ToneX One as a cheap way to microdose some capture fun into my life.
Hardware is Kemper/Neural, I did get the Tonex software cause lately I record DI tracks, so it’s convinient to have something in my daw.
Not sure I’m gonna invest getting this one on Tonex platform since JBs Dumble is there already, and if I’m correct a Tonex profile takes a couple of hours each? If the captures of this amp turn out extraordinary I’ll consider again.

I didn’t get the “One” cause I didn’t want to add more stuff…but it was tempting.

Next to your FM…I’d expect FM3 to be able to do anything that a soul can capture.
But it’s such a bang for the buck..couch/play out rig? ;)

The FM has been replaced by a full blown AxeFx III. Its my killer "does everything, but rarely leaves the jam room" rig.

I've been slowly (very slowly due to absurdly cold temps here) piecing together stuff for a smaller rig based around my Strymon Volante as looper/reverb/delay, some sort of amp box, and one overdrive, all on a board that includes a small power amp, driving a small 1x12. the mini Tonex makes sense for that. Currently using an Atomic Firebox which I know you hated...first time using Atomic stuff in six years and the Deluxe Reverb, with no cab sim and every other block turned off, sounds reeeeeeeeeally close to the Fractal Deluxe Reverb into my cab? The Bassman seems quite a bit less accurate, but still a useful "more mids" second amp to have loaded up on it.

Totally depends on your computer. They have different qualities you can profile at as well. The last time I profiled an amp on my MacBook Pro, it was like 15 minutes for standard quality and an hour and a half for high res. To me, there wasn't enough of a difference to bother with the high res after doing a few ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ahh…in that case it makes sense to have something small on the side…and tonex one a great option.

You have a great memory! I wanted to use the AF into a poweramp…and without the cabs it seemed overly bright to my ears, and I couldn’t tame it with the onboard EQ. Maybe user error, maybe just me cause I lean towards darker sounds. The full chain sounded fine to me btw.
Anyway…If it works for you..it works! Accuracy…to me that’s “proof of pudding/buyer’s reassurance” before you buy something…but once you have a device in use all that matters is if it works for you.

Ahh…good to know…15 minutes is doable.
@Boudoir Guitar, if you get a Tonex and fancy one of my profiles…I’ll run it through Tonex ;)

Fiddled with it at home…..god this a special amp. Best cleans I ever played. I hope the captures work out…else I’ll be carrying this 100w monster everywhere I go. ;)
It’s preamp into another powersection keeps some of the magic…so I’m hopefull

I made a couple of captures of the PREAMP. So from input to send of the amp. (I use captures of preamps live, going into returns of amps)
Captures came out great, I’m very happy with them at home…very “alive sound”. Sunday a maiden voyage on a gig!

If you run a QC into poweramp&cab also, here’s my preset with 4 of them. I didn’t check the usb feed yet, so no clue how the cabsimmed path sounds ;)
