Hello all, we are a group of High School Students currently in the capstone course of our Engineering Classes. The course requires us to solve a problem and gather data that demonstrates the problem exists. Specifically, we are trying to design a new type of trem blocker and would appreciate any responses from Floyd Rose guitar players. The form should only take a few minutes and it would be a massive help to our success. Thank you!

Only three questions about the actual use of one and the last question is "How much would you be willing to spend on an solution?"

Sounds more like a sales survey than a engineering class project really.

It looks legit, just maybe not well thought out ....HS....so that tracks

True, maybe I'm a bit too cynical...
I get it, I don't trust anything these days. World is infected with the brain worms, just trying to stay away from them.

Hahaha🤣

It's a balancing act between string and spring tension so I wish you the best of luck finding a solution that does not inhibit travel either way.

You need to look at the Kahler auto latch, the Steinberger jam trem and the Wilkinson convertible.
These all solved this problem. The best was the Kahler but it went out of production originally because is contravened the Steinberger patent, it is now back but very expensive. The Wilkinson was very effective but lacked an on the go spring adjustment so you constantly needed tools. The jam trem is excellent but incredibly rare.

And the only one available;

This really has it figured out. No play and relatively easy to maintain setup. This is the main problem, most people don’t really know how to set their guitars up to the optimal .
