Fwiw, I absolutely don't care about AmpITR, but I care a whole lot about KITR. One of the major issues with e-kits.
... and what are your pearls of wisdom for handling a venue where you have a loud acoustic drum and a volume level problem and you can't get the vocals over the drums?
Got any recordings you have done LIVE to demonstrate the technique? How about a PA setup? Any advice on what you can do to help the situation.
Progress. But someday, after a lot of money and resources are spent on R&D, mankind might finally invent the technology to make something really expensive that can finally do what any cheap drum made in the past 100 years could already do…
We can only hope
I'll repeat it again.
If a venue can't tolerate the spl generated by a shielded drum kit, during a rock performance, it should stop hiring rock bands.
Asking drummers to use e-drums is not a solution.
And let's be real, rock, blues, jazz or folk drummers won't switch to e-drums, e-drums won't become the new standard with the current available technology.
I also can't help but ask why anybody cares what is standard or common. There are and will be performance uses for both. How many in each case comes down to musicians and what they make.
I honestly could care less what a band uses live, as long as the music is good and not ear-bleeding loud. Some venues just inherently don't sound that great no matter what, unless you're in a perfect spot.
Yeah, I could definitely care less but don't feel like it right now.So you’re saying you care a little?![]()
Many a sound guy has had to sit and listen to crap all night because so many musicians are so smart they know more than the guys running the FOH.
I know some guys that do FOH sound for a living, but honestly, they wouldn't put up with loud drums and guitar amps. They get paid good money (likely more than the people spewing fecal matter in my general direction could ever afford) .
Yeah, I could definitely care less but don't feel like it right now.![]()
He's just some cunt who owns a Kemper. That's it.Dude, get fucked.
Opinions are one thing but when you start with that shit you just show your ass. This is a good lesson in how to invalidate everything coming out of your own mouth. I dunno where you're from or who you work with (aside from high school proms), but that mentality in any professional setting I've ever been in will have you jobless and without a band to even run sound for, never mind non-musical professional settings. In those, it's assumed the person bragging about money has none of it to brag about, immediately.

I'm a WIP, give me a few more years.I’m here for you man, for when you need to be brought down lower in your caring.![]()
