anyone have both to compare? I like the mo jo in my ibanez and always wondered if i would like the fred better?

Sometimes I just consult gifs when I’m looking for an answer

im too sexy right said fred GIF

I only have the FRED. On paper they don't look too far off, MoJoe looks like slightly more output and low mids tweaked a bit.

What you trying to achieve?

OH I have the mojo now in an ibanez and its vg but wondered if the fred was even worth trying

Anyone else with experience with both the FRED and Mo’ Joe?

I’ve been really digging the FRED and thinking about trying out a Mo’ Joe in my PRS.

I'd say take a chance? I'm curious as well. Obviously Satch likes it. :rofl

The thing is, I’m very happy with the JB in my PRS. But man, the FRED just cuts so well and those harmonics pop so easily.

I’m playing my JS6 through the SLO model on the Axe and it is such a joy to play. Especially when you really dig in.

Maybe I’ll try a Mo’ Joe if I can find one used at a decent price.

The JB's have more honk and lows, right?
But I hear you with the FRED, once you get used to that cut and upper mid detail, it's tough to want to play a darker pickup.

I tried the fred and swapped for the mo'joe.

The fred has a bit more harmonic content. No doubt due to the increased highs and mids.

The mo'joe has more balls and power. The low mids help here. I think they played with the coil offsets here. To me it sounds like a very lively ballsey paf. The paf joe is a perfect balance for it.
