Anyone ever been diagnosed with trigger finger?
Can you share any information on getting through it.
Having ring finger left hand, injection next week.

I got tendinitis in my middle finger from doing too many kettle bell swings, tendons don't give a warning, one day zero pain, next day so stiff I couldn't bend it. 90 days in a splint made out of coolant hose and duck tape till I could bend it again. tendons take fucking forever to heal. if you didn't actually injure it, it's just inflammation, the only cure for that is immobilize it and massage it, then lots of time

I had it in my left hand, middle finger about 12 years ago. I am pretty sure it happened to me from work. I am a life long auto tech, so hands took a lot of abuse. I got the shot and that lasted about a year and a half. 2nd shot 6 months. After that, surgery is the only cure, and it has been completely gone since. Once the tendon is injured and has swelling or a lump on it, it gets stuck in the channel through the joint, causing the locking up. The shots take down the swelling of the tendon, but eventually it reoccurs, hence the surgery Solution. I was nervous it would affect my playing, but after surgery is the same or better than before.

I had it in my right hand ring finger in college. I was studying classical guitar. When I'd pluck a note with the a (ring) finger it would lock in my palm. I'd have to shake it or pull it to straighten it. It sucked.

I had a shot in the finger and it was pretty painful and did some physical therapy. I'm better today and play more classical than ever.

My advice is after the injection get physical therapy if possible. I also recommend looking into your technique. There may be something you're doing that's causing it that can be alleviated by a change in technique. Go slow. Don't force the recovery. It may be frustrating but forcing it can make the recovery longer or put you back to square one.

Working with a lot of aerosol paint cans gave me a bout of trigger finger on my primary index, nothing severe. It wore off gradually and I learned to use both right and left hands

I've had it in both hands as well as carpal tunnel. 3 surgeries and all of the shots etc. I am still playing although I have had to make some minor adjustments. 40 years of motorcycles, guitar, computer programming, and loothing, eventually parts wear out. 😎

Find a good doctor and they will take care of you.
