Got this earlier this week and received a box full of cables yesterday. 6,3 mm TRS jacks in the back for connecting gear and 3,5 mm TS jacks (eurorack standard) on top for patching. It's about the size of a large pedal. This basically makes my whole setup modular.
After a few hours of wiring, this seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Without patching there's a constant signal flow from the patch bay to the mixer inputs, just like before. But now I can, for example, use my drum machine or other synths as sound sources in my modular synth and choose which effects I want to route to my mixer's FX loop at any given time. I can multiply signals from any source in my modular and do parallel routing. There's also a summing mixer.
The sad thing is that this unit is defective. There are bad connection issues with normaled connections. It seems to work fine without normaling, but there is some bleed in the FX patch points. The store I bought it from is arranging an exchange, so it'll be ok. But it's always a bit sad when you get a defective piece of gear. Especially since I have to rewire everything again, and then yet again when I get the replacement.
I also finally got a proper pedal power supply. Instead of being a cheap dumbass, I got the Cioks DC7 to replace the two 10€ Thomann power supplies I was using before.
