25 watts, bass cone, M magnet. Kinda want for my 4x12. Last time Celestion offered anything with the 55 Hz cone it was the G12H Heritage which has been discontinued for a bit.

Yeah this could be cool, I love the originals.

Could go either way - most of the Heritage line has been good except the G12H 55Hz. Tried to like that thing many times, but it doesn't sound much like the OG's, and is pretty harsh on the ear for all but dark amps.

I prefer the brighter celestions in the room and would like to try all the re-re-reissued heritage greenbacks.
If I'll be honest the new V30 is too mellow, it might record better but it's not (imo) lively enough in the room.

The G12H 75Hz is bright in a crisp, pleasing way. The voicing of the 55 is just harsh - IMO opinion of course, etc etc.

They're mostly excellent though, my favourites being the EVH and G12 65.

I like the Heritage 55Hz. Has that chainsaw-like grind in the low mids. It's also still available, btw... Parts Express sells them and somehow gets new ones all the time. I bought a quad recently. That said, I'd love to try these new M25 55Hz.

Really looking forward to some sound demos of this especially against the cream and greenbacks. I thought that Blackbacks were just greenbacks with a different casing. But every IR I’ve tried seems to be different enough from Greenbacks so I dunno.

I want to hear how different this speaker is from the current UK Greenback or G12-EVH. I’ll probably get one when they are available.

Kinda, but no. Back in the late 60's and 70's Celestion used a number of cone manufacturers. Generally - very generally - greenbacks had Pulsonic cones, and blackbacks used Kurt Müeller cones. This doesn't always apply, but is a decent rule of thumb and what the internet has come to accept.

So although the spec didn't really change from Celestion - tone is in the cone - so green and black offer different tones. Then there's grey and creambacks...

@The other John Browne I hope Celestion delivers all three new reissued speakers to you for review.
If you can, please also compare the new speakers with the 2019 V30 (china, very bright) as I actually prefer the bright chinese V30 in the room but not in-front of a SM57.
Yeah. I might have to talk to my buddy at Tube Amp Doctor. I have not dealt with Celestion directly yet but I'd really like to check them out. I have a pair of G12H Blackbacks from 1978 that rip.
