I've only met my father's mother a handful of times before her passing and my mother's mother left the family due to religious beliefs before my mother was a teenager.
I've never had that strong grandparent/grandchild relationship that I've seen with other people, but since having three children of my own I live it vicariously through their relationship with my mom, which is a joy to experience.
