Does anyone use this feature of EZDrummer 3? If so, how's it work for you?

I really like using Logic's Drummer app for simple sketch stuff, or a reaaaaally quick and dirty backing track creation from a looped guitar chord progression. Looks like EZDrummer (but not Superior Drummer?) has finally added this kind of thing in EZDrummer 3. Upgrade for me would be $99. I typically use Superior Drummer for sounds once I've got the MIDI parts written (and if I'm "writing" my own parts from scratch, I do it all in SD3 cause I love its grid). Worth a hundred bucks?

I’m also curious. I rarely touch EZD2, mostly using SD3 these days but that feature does look interesting in EZD3. Toontrack makes great stuff.

I was actually just talking about this with my boss this morning - on the occasion I have used it it tends to come back with something quite simple - it would be great if it came back with more variations.

I would love to see more AI related in Superior drummer even if it is adding more variations to parts that you have created.

Thanks. That is helpful info and comports with the demo videos I’ve watched of it. Think I’ll just stick with Logic Drummer.

check out Steinberg groove agent, i prefer the sounds of their acoustic samples to SD3 overall, and while it's not AI, there is an auto fill/crash/complexity/humanize system, that can be set up with a few minor adjustments to just run for hours and sound 100% human. there is a MPC style pad grid with a jam mode, with into/fill/verse/chorus, and each pattern can be set up with its own auto fill/crash/complexity/humanize settings, and then you can make a chain of those patterns to cycle through one to the next.

None of these things are actually AI. They’re just algorithmic. Does the Steinberg widget adjust the pattern to a
Pre-recorded audio track? Because that’s the relevant feature under discussion.
