Sorry for the Hallmark approved thread title. :bonk

Was thinking about hope and expectation this morning? Are we enthusiastic
on a Monday Morning, or do you want to murder me for even suggesting it
Is a possibility? :idk

May we all rise to the challenge of whatever circumstances face us. I am gonna
dig in and attack this next note. :rawk Who knows, the one after might call for
a more delicate and tender approach. Such are the many notes of our lives. :beer

Honestly, no, but I appreciate the enthusiasm!

I'm in the home stretch of a work crunch, trying to close out the project I've been working on for the last year. It was a major stretch for me and seems to be generally very well received. But it's been so stressful that I've been working through burnout for the last several months.

I've always been a "put your head down and charge" guy at work but I can't handle another year of this level work at this time. I mean I could do it, but it fries my nerves and my home life sucks. My hope is by Friday I'm done with this particular project and moving on to completely new work, and get a chance to take a deep breath and refresh.

The only note that Id like to eliminate is the work note
Other than that its all flowing easy up and down the neck

Yup i get that, here at work were under severe pressure as we have a lack of staff, so lots of OT and Weekends
But In 2025 I advised HR that i will only do limited OT and only 1 Saturday per month told them its that or I'm out and you loose me
they have agreed let's see how 2025 goes

We're dogless empty nesters at the moment. It's been a shift but we're enjoying it \m/

No Way Mac GIF by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Both in reverence of the old boy and the new found ability to run errands and just do normal human things without making an elaborate animal care plan. I say this as the most dog loving dog lover there is. We'll get another one probably when we retire but we are still processing it as well as just trying to enjoy being a bit 'untethered'.

Honestly as much as I loved dogs growing up, have to agree with you. Figuring out what to do with the dog when you want to travel or be gone from home for a day is a big pain. Ours is 11 and I'm not sure we'd get another one when the time comes. The cat is way easier to manage.

Yep. I loved my old boy so much it's not funny. He choose me to work his way into the family 16 years ago. So I was ATTACHED. But all you said is absolutely a thing. It's not a responsibility to take on lightly. At all.

i am so exhausted right now but so freaking happy its crazy. we had 2 of the best shows at our venue sat and sun, 13 bands. the place was packed both nights, the pits were ultra dummy. the community we are building is growing. we are finally recording the sets from the mixer and getting a few different angles of video and doing interviews with bands so i think we are going to push the socials a bit. we played sat and it was one of the better sets weve played as a band, it almost felt magical. a group of ppl mobbing your singer and screaming the lyrics of a song you wrote is a crazy thing that will never get old.
