New graphics!

j/k, there's a couple new effects as well, including Octaver, Simple Delay and Chorus.

Love the press release for this:

"There will be a CorOS update in the near future that introduces the functionality required to support plugins..."

"Archetype: Plini X will soon also be the first plugin to feature complete compatibility with the award-winning Quad Cortex modeler,...."

Just silly.

Shoe horn in the code to make it work....awesome model.

I still hope they get it sorted for QC users and that it works well.

So they’re using slick ad copy to sell us on something that was promised over three years ago? What a turd sandwich.

This is found money for people that own the plug-in. Adding all those effects is awesome, as one of my biggest gripes with some of the early plugins was the lack of effects, and some of the more modern plug features.

Hard to beat a free update of this size.

The update itself is great and it clearly improves an already solid product. Kudos to that. The clown-ish marketing speak connecting it to Quad Cortex is....less applause-worthy.

Asato and Plini X are WAY snappier and faster to run than the older plugins. Graphical style change is cool, but probably not any better, just different.

For some reason MIDI control either doesn't work right atm, or something has changed with how they do it. Couldnt get it to work on Asato or Plini X. Nice update, I really like the Plini plugin. Fender, Friedman BE=easy win.

Neural gonna Neural.

That said, it’s been a pretty good couple months for people in Neural Cinematic Universe.

CorOs 2.1
Cortex Control beta
Plini X

I’m curious if 2.3 or 3.0 (whatever they elect to number it) for plug-in compatibility won’t land by end of year. Smart money is probably on NO, but they seem to be building some momentum with the TMP around. lol

I wonder if the Asato plug is selling. They sent out an email earlier this week offering 20% off and I can’t recall Neural ever offering a discount on a new plug just a week or two after release. A lot of time their Black Friday and Happy Neural Day sales will not even include their latest plug.

Interested to do the update on Plini and give it go. Some really great clean tones on that thing. (Never vibed with the gainy stuff tho)

The stuff that truly seems imminent is the stuff they usually feel confident sticking a date or small timeframe on (e.g. Them announcing the Oct. 9 Control beta on August 31st.

So if it's not 60-90 days out and the holidays are coming up....I'd say 2024 is more likely. Happy to be wrong on this one, tho...

Got that email as well, and wondered about the exact same.

At least on forums, the main reactions i've read to Archetype: Asato were all just "meh". I think NDSP is starting to have a lot of feature overlap across their plugin line - and i don't know if Mateus Asato is enough of a household name to draw many buyers in.

This is great, I bought Plini when it first came out and it's the only NDSP plugin I own. Nice new look, new effects including double delay, and better performance all years after purchase. I'm very happy about this! My one regret, (and I requested it to Doug when the Soldano plugin came out) is a black background theme option. Is seems like a very small feature since other plugins already have themes. Plini can be hard on the eyes at night.

pretty sure it’s just the 20% discount they’ve always given to existing customers. If it was an extra 20% on top of that I might have considered it.

It absolutely makes sense that the more of these they release, the less unique they’ll be. Even if it’s amps that haven’t been modelled before, it’s a harder sell each time. I’m sure eventually there’ll be a turning point where the number of sales vs development costs make less sense and they’ll tweak how they sell/package stuff up.

We’re sort of conditioned to think this stuff is expensive but having made a lot of NAM/ToneX/Kemper profiles, I’d happily pay £40 per amp to have the ENTIRE amp captured at every setting, with a nice UI, standalone, MIDI, pedals/FX and some IR’s.
