Okay I have to admit, one of my guilty pleasures is watching a good attorney rip sloppy law enforcement to shreds on YT and this channel kept popping up from time to time so I have been watching a few here than there. She seems pretty knowledgeable and it's interesting to me especially all the BS about copyright infringement for cover songs, bar gigs where you are making chump change, etc.

I had just watched a video of hers for the first time about 4 days ago. I then spent about 2 hours watching other videos of hers! Not only do I like her legal breakdown, I would also like to . . .!! Nevermind!!! What I have seen so far is good stuff IMO ;~)) She did stray a bit at times, focusing on things that were outside the wheelhouse of the title topic, but she always found her way back.

I'd rather she speak Dutch. :rofl

All this points to the outdated intellectual property rights laws currently in place. And, the ever increasing imbalance of power afforded to entities that have nearly unlimited excess to legal representation and social/political influence.

Sounds interesting - I'll check it out.

(I, unlike some, have an attention span longer than that of a gnat.)

I just (just) listened to about the first 5 mins and she's explaining how these major label fuckos are actually suing the Internet Wayback Machine (which is *the* internet archive).

That's correct: suing the Internet Wayback Machine.

Pure pond scum; those fuckers.

It's true.

Lots of stuff is getting scrubbed off the Wayback Machine.

:cop

History suggest that laws are not ever written by artists/ for artists. Ever. Never ever!

Shocking, eh?

The number 1 occupation of Legislatures at the State and Federal level is being an Attorney
and/or having a Law Degree. Coincidence?

Laws are written by those in power, for those in power. And every several hundred years
there are "Revolutions" by the masses to try and wrest some of that power back to the People.
