I would certainly like to play one. Only thing I’ve noticed about some of the IBG Epiphone offerings I have played is that some had fret end issues. Nothing horrible, but you can feel them. I’m intrigued by the big neck and pickups in this model though.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, these IBG Epiphones are nice when compared to their Epiphone counterparts but there is no way I would pay over $1000 US for any of them. Under the fancy bling they are still Chinese Epiphones. There are so many good guitars out there for way less I just don’t see the value. No dis to my old Epi LP Modern which I really like but it was like $650 new. That is where I top out on these. Even the PRS SE’s are getting close to being overpriced but the quality is generally better than Epiphone in my opinion. I think the stuff coming out of Indonesia is excellent.

I had seriously thought about it when they were announced, but I already have three Gibson LPs and the Epiphone Alex Lifeson Custom. I am actually going into downsize mode where I intend to keep ONE of the Gibsons (a Standard ‘50s P90 gold top) and divest the rest.

I’d rather just buy a used LP Studio for the price. I don’t hate on Epiphone - I think there should be a Les Paul option under $1000 for the kids and folks who don’t want to or can’t spend 3k on a guitar - but exceeding a grand for the Gibson headstock (and better pickups I guess) is a no go. At least with PRS you can see increases in value as you move up their product line.

I'm not really tempted by signature models, but I love Epiphone. Les Paul loved Epiphone. I know the connection to Gibson Les Pauls is pretty tangential but Mick Ronson and Johnny Thunders and Sylvain Sylvain and Mick Jones played Les Pauls, not PRSes. I wanted a Les Paul, even if it was an Epiphone.
I got mine for the equivalent of about 650 to 700 dollars new, while Gibson Studios start at about three times the price. Now I can become a better guitarist, and maybe in a few years buy a Gibson Standard when I feel worthy of it.

No, I'm not interested in any Epiphone Les Pauls at this stage in my life. I've got a USA made PRS that nails the Les Paul thing, and if I really wanted a Les Paul it would be a goldtop with P90's.

I do have a Joe Bonamassa 335 which is a pretty decent guitar but I don't like the vibrola on it. At some point I'll probably try to trade it for something else or just move on.
