At this rate in my current home life with my specific PRS guitar without any climate control on the humidity balance I’ll apparently be adjusting the truss rod twice per year, needing a loosening in the summer and a tightening in the winter to keep the relief that is ideal for me.

How do you personally handle this? Would you keep that truss rod tweaking ritual or would you opt to shoot for more humidification control?

I know not everyone is so sensitive to minute changes but I know my ideal settings as something I'd like to maintain.

P.S. No sense trying to keep every guitar cased with or without humidor, as something has to be handy to take down off the wall and put back continuously.

It doesn't matter what level of climate control you have in your home studio, the guitars know exactly what the humidity, barometric pressure, temperature, and dew point is outside, and their necks react accordingly.

It doesn’t matter if I ran a humidifier in my home. As soon as my guitars leave the house for a gig, the benefits of a humidifier are zero.

I just adjust them as needed. Either seasonally with the guitars that never leave the house, or at the venue where humidity levels are completely unpredictable.

Oh ok, cool. So in other words if I'm making these frequent little 1/8th - 1/4 turns I need not worry about wearing out the mechanism within the wood or the wood itself.

It also depends on the truss rod type.
Vintage single rods brace against wood so act like a by metal thermostat.
Two way and double rods brace in themselves so don’t move really according to humidity and hardly due to temperature change as long as the guitar is stored properly.
But you should adjust the rod whenever it needs it.

I wouldn’t worry about it. The truss rod is meant to be adjusted. I’ve never had an issue with a truss rod failing on a well made instrument.

There are cases where they do fail, but I bet it’s more uncommon than say, a Les Paul headstock break.

I had one of those! :)
